ABOUT THE MOVIE
The "My Bicycle My City" film presents for the first time in Turkey the perspective of women only who own a bicycle and use it in their daily lives, their work, their social environment, their families and their relations. It is a documentary focusing on the connection between Turkish women, bicycles and city life. The natural scenery of the film are the seven cities in the seven regions of Turkey, where the film was made by the Women on Bicycle Initiative with the support of the Facebook Community Leadership Program of 2018.
ABOUT THE COMMUNITY

The Women on Bicycle Initiative was founded on March 2015. WoBi is an effort by women to create a solidarity space for cycling women, give them courage, increase the number of women using the bicycle in their daily lives in Turkey and make them more visible in the cycling community.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Ufuk Aydın was born in Üsküdar in 1987. He has worked as a digital product designer for companies active in the media and internet services sector. In 2015 he worked at the Hürriyet newspaper as Chief Designer. He is currently Chief Designer of Digital Products at iLab Ventures.
He started making videos about the cyclist associations he was part of while riding with them. He goes on in order to relate cycling in Turkey, from the past until today. He has individually or collectively contributed both with picture material as well as product design to projects by Bisikletli Ulaşım Platformu (Cyclists' Transport Platform), Critical Mass, Pedal Arkadaşım (My pedalling Friend) and  Bisikletli Kadın İnisiyatifi (Women on Bicycle Initiative ).For the "My Bicycle My City" documentary film staring in 2019, the amateur director has listened to and recorded the stories of women in seven different prefectures of Turkey. His aim was to understand the known and unknown aspects of the women's first use of their bicycles, their use in daily life, the social implications and the reactions of their families, as they are revealed by the subjects' stories.
